Nuno Espirito Santo 'does not care' about rivals' complaints

Nuno Espirito Santo is only concerned about matters on the field, amid strong claims that Wolverhampton Wanderers are to be investigated for their transfer activity.

Nuno Espirito Santo has brushed aside alleged complaints from rival clubs about agent Jorge Mendes's role in Wolverhampton Wanderers' transfer dealings.

The Mirror reported earlier this week that 'pressure is rising' on the Football Association and Football League to launch an investigation looking into the Championship leaders' financial affairs over the past year.

Leeds United, Derby County and Aston Villa are said to be among the second-tier teams to have voiced concerns about the part Mendes has played in bringing star names to Molineux, which they argue does not fall in line with financial fair play constraints.

Nuno has insisted that he is not concerned about the prospect of a probe being launched at a key point in the season, however, and he is just focused on Wednesday's trip to Leeds United.

"I don't know and I don't care. It's not my issue. My job is to prepare the team and prepare it well for the competition," he told reporters at his pre-match press conference.

"[I have had a relationship with Jorge] for 25 years. If the clubs claim that EFL... see what they have to say, it's not for me to worry about these things. My only focus is on preparing the team for the games.

"It's an issue that doesn't concern me or worry me because I trust completely the club and what the club is doing. Wolves is Wolves, agents are agents, other clubs are other clubs. I only care and focus on Wolves and our daily work."

Wolves are seven points clear of third place with their game in hand at Elland Road still to play.
