Francesco Guidolin delighted with Swansea City performance

Swansea City boss Francesco Guidolin says that he is delighted that his players proved they were still focused on their results this season by beating Liverpool.

Swansea City boss Francesco Guidolin has said that his players proved a point in their 3-1 victory over Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.

A double from Andre Ayew and a Jack Cork effort secured the three points for the Welsh club, who now sit in 13th place in the Premier League table.

Swansea had been criticised for their performance during the 4-0 defeat to Leicester City last weekend, but Guidolin feels that his side showed that they were still committed to improving the club's league position before the summer.

The 60-year-old told BBC Sport: "It is an important result for me, for the players, for the club, because this was a complicated season. I'm happy for my players because today they've shown they're not on the beach but very focused on the job. I know my players and I'm proud of them.

Swansea face West Ham United and Manchester City in their remaining two fixtures.
