Sunderland and Southampton go into the break with the score level at 0-0.

There were few chances at the Stadium of Light in the first half as Sunderland and Southampton have headed into the half-time interval of their Premier League clash locked at 0-0.

The best chance of the game well to Jay Rodriguez from a corner, but Simon Mignolet parried the ball away after it has travelled through a crowd of players.

Rickie Lambert almost opened the scoring for the Saints, but Mignolet got just enough of a touch on the ball to stop it trickling through his legs.

A win for Sunderland would go a long way in helping them stave off relegation from the English top flight this season.
