Harry Redknapp claims Demba Ba release clause

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp claims that Newcastle striker Demba Ba has a release clause in his contract.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has claimed that Newcastle United striker Demba Ba has a release clause in his contract.

The Senegal forward, who signed for a free transfer over the summer, has impressed this season with 15 goals in the Premier League.

"Demba Ba's done great, hasn't he, everybody's looking at him suddenly," said Redknapp. "He's done a fantastic job. What a strike-rate he's got. He's probably the most in-form striker anywhere at the moment.

"They say there's a release clause in his contract, that's what we all hear.

"He's certainly done well and it will be interesting to see what happens there, but at the moment he's doing great things for Newcastle."

Ba will not be unavailable to the Magpies for a number of weeks due to his participation in the Africa Cup of Nations.
