Premier League duo Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are preparing to make January bids for Switzerland international Eren Derdiyok.
The 23-year-old Bayer Leverkusen striker, who has been valued at £7.5m, scored an overhead kick in front of watching scouts from both clubs last weekend.
Spurs manager Harry Redknapp has targeted Derdiyok as a direct replacement for Roman Pavlyuchenko, who appears to be heading for the White Hart Lane exit door during the next transfer window, The Sun reports.
Meanwhile, Newcastle boss Alan Pardew is keen to bolster his attacking options following the January sale of Andy Carroll to Liverpool.
