Harry Kane has revealed that he is "very proud" to have broken a 23-year-old goalscoring record in Tottenham Hotspur's 3-1 win away to Newcastle United this evening.
Kane, 21, added gloss to the scoreline late on to become the first Spurs player since Gary Lineker in 1992 to reach the 30-goal barrier in a season.
However, with five games left, the young England striker says that he has no intention of slowing down despite reaching the milestone.
"I'm very proud but there's still five games left so hopefully I can get a few more goals and it doesn't stop here," he told Sky Sports News.
"Obviously I'm delighted with the 30 goals but the most important thing is that we keep winning games."
Nacer Chadli fired the Lilywhites into a 1-0 half-time lead at St James' Park before Jack Colback levelled within a minute of the restart.
Christian Eriksen's deceptive free kick put Mauricio Pochettino's side ahead once more on 53 minutes, with Kane sealing the points with a cool finish in the dying moments.
