Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has suggested that Gaston Ramirez's time at the club is not over.
The Uruguay playmaker was signed for £12m three years ago, but he has struggled to live up to his price tag and spent last season on loan at Hull City.
However, Koeman has yet to call time on his Saints career and hopes that he can stay fit through pre-season.
He is quoted as saying by the Daily Echo: "Gaston is back and he's doing the pre-season with the team. It's the first time he's had a holiday, because he had some years that he played for the Uruguay national team without holidays.
"He had a lot of injuries, and that makes it more difficult for Gaston. I hope now that he will do a good pre-season without any injury and to show his qualities, because still it's a very good football player."
Ramirez has scored six Southampton goals so far.
