Real Sociedad coach Philippe Montanier insists that he is pleased with how their season has gone, regardless of whether they secure Champions League qualification.

Philippe Montanier has insisted that his Real Sociedad side have had an excellent season, regardless of whether they qualify for the Champions League.

Sociedad are currently fifth in La Liga and need Sevilla to beat Valencia tonight and win their own match against Deportivo La Coruna to finish in the top four.

"This season has been a success, and I say this now, before Saturday night's events," Montanier told reporters.

"We have had a great season and during this last week we have enjoyed everything that we have managed together.

"I have no doubt that for Valencia it will be difficult to win in Seville, but we should focus solely on what we have to do."

Sociedad travel to Deportivo this evening at 8pm in the final round of games in La Liga.
