Cristiano Ronaldo returns to Real Madrid training after being rested at the weekend ahead of his side's Champions League semi-final second leg with Bayern Munich.

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has returned to training ahead of Tuesday night's Champions League semi-final second leg against Bayern Munich at the Bernabeu.

Ronaldo failed to score for the first time in this season's competition during the first leg at the Allianz Arena, but Madrid still came away with a 2-1 win which puts them in control of the tie at the halfway stage.

The 33-year-old was subsequently rested for Madrid's La Liga win over Leganes at the weekend as Zinedine Zidane's side edged to another 2-1 triumph.

However, the Portuguese talisman is now back in training and will return to the starting lineup alongside the likes of Sergio Ramos, Marcelo and Luka Modric.

Ronaldo has scored 41 goals in just 38 appearances for Madrid across all competitions this season, including 26 in his last 16 club outings.
