French side Paris Saint-Germain have stepped up their interest in England midfielder David Beckham.
Beckham's contract with Los Angeles Galaxy expires at the end of the current Major League Soccer season and PSG are keen to sign him.
The 36-year-old is seen as an ideal signing to raise the profile of the Ligue One team.
"David Beckham goes beyond the sport. He is an ambassador, he is a brand, he is an example to others," Nasser al-Khelaifi, the PSG president, told L'Equipe.
"But he is also still a very good football player whose age is not a problem."
The French club have reportedly already ordered club shirts with Beckham's name on the back.
PSG are funded by Qatari investors and made several big money signings during the summer, including former Chelsea target Javier Pastore.
