Monaco's Joao Moutinho has rejected reports that he was close to signing for Manchester United this summer.
The Portugal international is believed to have been offered to the Red Devils before the close of the transfer window on Monday.
However, the 27-year-old has denied that any contact was made by the former Premier League champions.
"Manchester United? There was nothing," The Express quotes Moutinho as saying. "To my knowledge, there was nothing."
The midfielder was reportedly unhappy with Monaco's decision to sell James Rodriguez to Real Madrid and loan Radamel Falcao to United.
