Brentford boss Thomas Frank has predicted Bryan Mbeumo will play for a 'big club' in the future.

Mbeumo continued his impressive start to the season with a record-breaking goal in Saturday's 1-1 draw with West Ham United.

The forward scored in the opening 60 seconds against the Hammers to help Brentford become the first team to score inside the first minute of three consecutive Premier League matches.

As a result of his strike against the Hammer, Mbeumo has now scored five goals in Brentford's opening six top-flight matches, leaving him in joint-third place in the Premier League scoring charts.

Not Gunner give up: Arsenal lurking as 23-year-old talks 'intensify'

Arsenal have reportedly thrown their hat into the ring to sign Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon, but the Magpies are confident of tying him down to fresh terms.

The 23-year-old's future has been a hot-button topic for several months now, and it appeared that a move back to Liverpool was a genuine possibility at one point over the summer.

Liverpool were thought to have been willing to send Joe Gomez in the opposite direction as part of the bargain, but the window slammed shut without the two sides reaching a compromise over a deal.

Following a relentless summer of speculation, Gordon only managed one goal in his first five Premier League games of the season, but he rescued a point for the Magpies in Saturday's 1-1 draw with champions Manchester City.

Chelsea reportedly made numerous enquiries over a move for AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan over the summer but were put off by the Rossoneri's extortionate price demands.

The Blues' chaotic summer of change was not just limited to the outfield positions, as new head coach Enzo Maresca also oversaw a couple of alterations in the goalkeeping department.

Chelsea prised Denmark's Filip Jorgensen away from Villarreal, while allowing Djordje Petrovic and Kepa Arrizabalaga - who remains the most expensive goalkeeper on the planet - to join Strasbourg and Bournemouth on loan respectively.

Despite the capture of the highly-rated Jorgensen, Robert Sanchez has cemented himself as Chelsea's number one in the early portion of 2024-25, but he failed to fully convince in Saturday's 4-2 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion.

Barcelona are reportedly the favourites to sign Bayern Munich attacker Kingsley Coman next year.

There was speculation surrounding the 28-year-old's future during the summer transfer window, but the deadline passed with the versatile forward still at Allianz Arena.

Coman has another three years left to run on his contract with the German giants, but he is expected to be on the move next year, as he looks for the next chapter in his career.

According to Fichajes, Barcelona are firmly interested in Coman, and there is a belief that a deal could be done for a figure in the region of €40m (£33.4m) during next summer's transfer window.

Newcastle United are reportedly expected to renew their interest in Liverpool defender Joe Gomez in January after missing out on signing Marc Guehi during the summer transfer window.

Guehi was frequently mentioned as a potential departure from Crystal Palace this summer, but a move for the England centre-back never materialised.

The Magpies made four official offers for the defender, but the Eagles were firm on their asking price and rejected each bid, ultimately leading Newcastle to abandon their pursuit.

However, Eddie Howe's side are believed to still be in the market for defensive reinforcements, and while they may return for Guehi in January, it seems that they are also considering an improved bid for the Palace man's England teammate.

The 20-year-old is the son of the legendary Mark van Bommel, who famously turned out for the likes of Barcelona, Bayern Munich and AC Milan during a brilliant professional career.

Ruben van Bommel is making his own way in the game, spending seven years in the PSV youth academy before starting his professional career with MVV Maastricht.

The forward moved to AZ in 2023, and he has represented the Dutch outfit on 47 occasions, scoring 13 goals and registering three assists in the process.

Real Madrid will reportedly move for Manchester United's Diogo Dalot next summer if they are unsuccessful in their attempts to bring in Trent Alexander-Arnold on a free transfer.

Alexander-Arnold's contract with Liverpool is due to expire next summer, and Real Madrid are keeping a close eye on the situation, with Los Blancos hoping to sign him on a free.

However, a recent report claimed that the England international is determined to pen a fresh deal at Anfield, with discussions expected to intensify in the near future.

According to GIVEMESPORT, Real Madrid are therefore preparing to switch their attention to Dalot, viewing the Portugal international as their number one alternative to the Liverpool full-back.

Gomes started his career at Old Trafford but managed just 10 first-team appearances before departing in 2020 on loan to Portuguese club Boavista.

The 24-year-old then made a permanent move to France where three successful seasons with Lille have revitalised his career, earning him his international debut under Lee Carsley.

The England international's impressive development has attracted the attention of top clubs across Europe, and recent reports suggest that a return to England could be on the cards.

This season, the 22-year-old has already netted two goals in four Bundesliga matches and is gaining significant interest from clubs across Europe owing to his impressive form.

The Egypt international has started his first campaign under Arne Slot in fine style, contributing three goals and four assists in five Premier League starts.

However, the future of the legendary attacker remains firmly up in the air with less than 12 months remaining on his contract.

There have been conflicting reports as to whether Salah intends to extend his time at Anfield, albeit the latest offering is that an exit is more likely.

Los Blancos are looking to defend their La Liga title and Champions League trophy this campaign with Carlo Ancelotti having also signed a new contract.

However, the legendary manager faces a far tougher battle to win the former with Real already sitting four points adrift of leaders Barcelona in the standings.

As well as their fierce rivals recording seven successive victories, Real have been held to disappointing draws with Mallorca and Las Palmas.

'Barcelona decision' - Man City 'eyeing move' for midfielder after Rodri blow

Manchester City are reportedly planning to move for Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong next year, with a deal during the January transfer window not being ruled out.

The Citizens are expected to enter the winter market for a new central midfielder, having been hit with the news that Rodri will be out for the remainder of the campaign with a serious knee injury.

Torino's Samuele Ricci has been linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium, but according to Fichajes, De Jong is also firmly on the Manchester club's radar.

The 27-year-old's contract at Camp Nou is due to expire in June 2026, and there is thought to be a strong chance that he could leave the La Liga giants next year.

Manchester United will reportedly be in the mix to sign Marc Guehi next year, with Crystal Palace expected to find it incredibly difficult to keep the centre-back beyond the end of the current season.

Newcastle United tracked Guehi throughout the summer and made multiple offers for his services, but the Magpies were ultimately unsuccessful in their attempts to sign him.

There are thought to have been at least four separate bids for Guehi, with the biggest believed to be in the region of £60m plus £5m in add-ons, but it was not enough to convince Palace to sell.

Guehi is in the final two years of his contract at Selhurst Park, though, and it is believed that he is not planning to sign a fresh deal with the Eagles, as he bids to make the next step in his career.

    © Imago

Wojciech Szczesny has reportedly not been guaranteed the number one spot at Barcelona for the 2024-25 campaign, with the experienced goalkeeper potentially being back-up to Inaki Pena at the club.

The Catalan giants have been hit with the news that their first-choice stopper Marc-Andre ter Stegen will be absent for the rest of the season due to a severe knee injury.

Pena has started Barcelona's last two matches in Ter Stegen's absence, and the 25-year-old will again be between the sticks for Saturday's La Liga contest against Osasuna.

The Catalan club are preparing to bring in another goalkeeper, though, with Szczesny set to arrive on a free transfer, having departed Juventus over the summer.
