Dwight Yorke: Newcastle United "will raise their game" against Manchester United

Newcastle United "will raise their game" against Manchester United, according to Dwight Yorke.

Former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke has warned the current crop of players that Newcastle United "will raise their game" against them this evening.

Despite their 1-0 victory over Aston Villa last time out, the Magpies have been in poor form in recent weeks, winning just one of their previous eight outings.

However, Yorke has insisted that John Carver's men will be extra determined to get the better of the Red Devils.

"Yes, the word is inconsistent when it comes to Newcastle, but United coming to town means they will raise their game," he told the club's official website.

United have won on their last two visits to St James' Park.
