Tuesday's Championship predictions including Norwich City vs. Leeds United

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Championship fixtures, including Norwich City vs. Leeds United.

Burnley vs. Plymouth (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Still searching for their maiden away triumph of the 2024-25 season, Plymouth Argyle make the long trek north to Lancashire for a Championship date with Burnley on Tuesday night.

Wayne Rooney's charges gave the Home Park faithful something to cheer at the weekend with a 3-1 triumph over Luton Town, while the Clarets were held to a goalless draw by Oxford United.

We say: Burnley 1-1 Plymouth Argyle

Burnley have not replicated their toothless away-day displays at Turf Moor, but Plymouth have also not been able to buy a win away from home in recent months and have failed to score in each of their last four losses on rival turf.

However, the visitors are evidently growing in confidence under Rooney and have our backing to take a hard-earned point away from Lancashire.

Cardiff vs. Millwall (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Cardiff City interim manager Omer Riza pictured on September 14, 2024© Imago

Following a dreadful start to the post-Erol Bulut era, Cardiff City hope to snap their sequence of Championship defeats at home to Millwall on Tuesday evening.

The Bluebirds' woes continued in a 4-1 hammering at the hands of Hull City last time out, while Neil Harris's troops were convincing 3-1 victors over Preston North End.

We say: Cardiff City 1-2 Millwall

Despite Riza's affirmations that he saw some encouraging stuff from Cardiff in their loss to Hull, the Bluebirds' defensive deficiencies are there to be exposed by a Millwall side on cloud nine.

While we still have faith in Cardiff to end their barren scoreless streak on home soil, we also anticipate Harris's troops having enough in the attacking tank to earn their first away win of the league season.

Coventry vs. Blackburn (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Underachieving Coventry City host overachieving Blackburn Rovers in an intriguing Championship clash on Tuesday night.

Last season, Coventry were in the playoff hunt while Blackburn lingered near the relegation zone, but this time around the tables have turned, with the visitors having an excellent season so far.

We say: Coventry City 1-1 Blackburn Rovers

The league table and form suggests Blackburn should be favourites for this one, but even though Coventry have had a tough time of it this season, specifically at home, Blackburn should not expect an easy encounter.

Blackburn are yet to win a league game on the road this season, drawing all three, and another could be in store here, especially if Coventry can unlock the undoubted quality they have in their ranks.

Luton vs. Oxford Utd (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Recently-relegated Luton Town welcome newly-promoted Oxford United to Kenilworth Road in the Championship on Tuesday night.

Oxford are impressing in their first season at this level since the turn of the millennium, while Luton have been uninspiring since dropping down from the Premier League.

We say: Luton Town 2-1 Oxford United

Both teams have scored in the last six meetings between these two sides, and while neither have been particularly ruthless in attack so far, that is likely to happen again.

Oxford's awful away form is a concern, and despite Luton's troubles, they will see themselves as favourites in this one, and could edge a narrow encounter to extend their home unbeaten run to 10 games over the U's.

QPR vs. Hull City (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Hull City will be aiming to make it three straight wins in the Championship when they continue their 2024-25 campaign with a contest against Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday night.

The visitors will enter the match off the back of a 4-1 victory over Cardiff City, while QPR were beaten 2-0 at Blackburn Rovers last time out, with the result leaving them 17th in the table.

We say: Queens Park Rangers 1-1 Hull City

This fixture has favoured the home side in recent meetings, and there has only been one draw in their last eight Championship encounters. We are struggling to pick a winner on Tuesday night, though, with a tight match potentially ending with the points being shared.

Sunderland vs. Derby (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Sunderland will be bidding to return to winning ways in the Championship when they continue their 2024-25 campaign at home to Derby County on Tuesday night.

The Black Cats will enter the match off the back of a 2-1 defeat to Watford, while Derby lost a five-goal thriller against Norwich City in their last game in the second tier of English football.

We say: Sunderland 1-0 Derby County

Sunderland will be determined to return to winning ways in front of their own supporters, and we can see the Black Cats shading a close game on Tuesday night, with the winner potentially coming in the latter stages of the fixture.

Norwich vs. Leeds (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Two teams in strong form will lock horns in the Championship on Tuesday evening, with Norwich City welcoming Leeds United to Carrow Road.

Norwich are currently ninth in the Championship table, boasting 11 points from their opening seven matches, while Leeds sit fifth, three points ahead of their opponents in this contest.

We say: Norwich City 1-2 Leeds United

Leeds have largely been defensively excellent this season; they may not be able to keep a clean sheet on Tuesday due to Norwich's quality in the final third of the field, but we are still backing the Whites to secure all three points.

West Brom vs. Middlesbrough (Tuesday, 8.00pm)

Championship leaders West Bromwich Albion are set to host promotion hopefuls Middlesbrough at The Hawthorns on Tuesday in what could prove to be a pivotal match in the quest for promotion in England's second division.

The hosts have 16 points from seven league matches so far but did lose 3-2 last time out against Sheffield Wednesday on September 28, while the visitors are in eighth place with 11 points and beat Stoke City 2-0 on Saturday.

We say: West Bromwich Albion 2-1 Middlesbrough

West Brom's strong start to the season and impressive home record should make them favourites on Tuesday.

Additionally, given Middlesbrough have numerous defensive absentees, it would not be surprising if they were to concede first.
