Chris Smalling urges Manchester United to make Old Trafford a fortress again.

Manchester United defender Chris Smalling has urged his teammates to make Old Trafford a fortress as the team go in search of the Premier League title.

Sir Alex Ferguson's side, who were all but perfect at home a season ago, have lost twice at home in the league during the current campaign. However, with nine games to go, Smalling insists that United cannot afford to slip up when Fulham make the trip to Manchester tomorrow night.

"It's important to win our last five home games," he told the club's official website.

"Last season Old Trafford was a fortress and we need to make sure we get the fans right behind us.

"Fulham are an established side in the league, but have had some ups and downs this season. We know we need to perform well."

The Red Devils currently trail rials Manchester City on goal difference.
