Manchester United, Watford display 'peace' sign ahead of contest

Manchester United and Watford players come together to display a 'peace' sign ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash.

Manchester United and Watford players came together to display a 'peace' sign ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash between the two sides at Old Trafford.

Various reports have said that the idea to display the sign came from Man United's interim head coach Ralf Rangnick, and the two sets of players were united ahead of Saturday's match, sending out a strong message amid the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

Rangnick held up the sign, which was translated in several languages, with the Man United players calling their opponents over to pose for the photograph in Manchester.

UEFA have already taken the decision to move the 2022 Champions League final from St Petersburg to Paris following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Poland are planning to boycott their World Cup playoff against Russia, which is due to take place on March 24, due to the recent developments.
