Manchester United's director of football negotiations Matt Judge resigns from the club in the latest backroom reshuffle, according to a report.

Manchester United's director of football negotiations Matt Judge has resigned from the club in the latest backroom reshuffle, according to a report.

Judge was responsible for much of the negotiations surrounding transfers and contracts behind the scenes at Old Trafford, since moving into the role in 2014 when Louis van Gaal was manager.

That role will soon become vacant according to The Athletic though, who report that Judge is currently serving a notice period ahead of an exit later this year, following weeks of consideration over his position at United.

The resignation comes during a significant reshuffle off the pitch at United, ahead of the arrival of new first-team manager Erik ten Hag in the summer.

Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward left his role in March and was replaced by Richard Arnold following a turbulent nine years at the club.

Chief scout Jim Lawlor, and head of global scouting Marcel Bout, then also left United in recent weeks too, to leave John Murtough in full control of football operations as things stand ahead of a busy summer for the Red Devils.
