Manchester City's Joe Hart: 'We've let Manuel Pellegrini down'

Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart believes that the players have let Manuel Pellegrini down this season.

Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart has admitted that he and his teammates have let manager Manuel Pellegrini down at times this season.

The reigning Premier League champions have dropped from second to fourth in the table in a matter of weeks and are now 12 points behind leaders Chelsea.

While Pellegrini has come under the most criticism, with widespread reports suggesting that he will be sacked in the summer, Hart believes that players need to take accountability.

"People have been disappointed in their own performances, we've let the manager down a few times in certain games and we've baffled ourselves a little bit because we feel like we've got the quality to beat anyone and that's not been the case," Hart told Sky Sports News.

"[Pellegrini] has got principles that we work to, that we train to and, like I say, we've let him down a few times in that case."

This Sunday, City will take on West Ham United at the Etihad Stadium.
