Macclesfield Town have offered one of their supporters the chance to play for the club.
The Conference outfit need to raise around £100,000 before the end of August in order to survive.
One of the fundraising ideas that they have come up with is to allow someone to get 10 minutes' playing time in one match next season, providing that they are willing to pay £20,000.
The fan will be given a squad number, a kit, have a place in the official team photo and be granted permission to train with the first team.
"If we are 3-0 up with 10 minutes to go that would be a good opportunity for manager John Askey to utilise the situation," the club's associate director Andy Scott told the Macclesfield Express.
"There's absolutely no way we would do it unless it was the right moment in the right game."
No other team is believed to have ever offered up this type of opportunity.
