Brendan Rodgers on verge of signing three-year deal at Liverpool

Brendan Rodgers is currently travelling to Liverpool to finalise a three-year deal with the club and is believed to feel "blessed" in being offered the managerial job.

Swansea City boss Brendan Rodgers is reportedly on his way to Liverpool to complete a three-year deal with the Merseyside club.

The 39-year-old is believed to have been one of three candidates for the position, which included Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez and Ajax coach Frank De Boer, according to Sky Sports News.

It is understood that the Northern Irishman has turned down a number of offers from 'top' clubs in the last year but has claimed that the Liverpool offer was too big to reject.

Reports have claimed that the former Chelsea reserve team coach will have free reign over the team and that there will not be any outside influence on day-to-day decision making.
