Nigel Pearson pleased with Leicester City attitude

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson praises the contribution that squad players have made to the team's recent winning run.

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has said that he is pleased with the contribution that squad players have made to their recent winning run.

The Foxes have hauled themselves off the bottom of the Premier League table with three successive victories over West Ham United, West Bromwich Albion and, most recently, Swansea City.

Pearson has said that Marc Albrighton and Danny Drinkwater, who have been on the fringes of the first team this season, deserve credit for their performances since coming back into the side.

"We talk about it being a squad game and what is important is that players feel that they get a chance," Pearson told Leicester's official website. "Marc has had a difficult season and has probably felt frustrated at times, but the players playing in wide positions have been exceptionally good all year.

"What he has done is taken his chance once it's come along. Throughout the side there's a competitive spirit, but also a lot of support for the players who aren't playing.

"You look at Danny Drinkwater, he was our Player of the Year last year, and has played quite a small part in terms of appearances this year, but let me tell you, when he got the nod to go on as a second-half substitute, he was nothing other than focused on doing a job for the team."

Leicester face relegation rivals Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday.
