Nigel Pearson: 'Long way to go for Leicester City'

Nigel Pearson warns Leicester not to get carried away by their three-game winning streak as there is an "awful long way to go" in their relegation battle.

Nigel Pearson has told his Leicester City team to think again if they believe that they are on the brink of preserving their Premier League status for another year.

Pearson's side have thrown themselves a huge lifeline in the relegation battle by winning their last three to stay in the drop zone on goal difference behind Hull City.

However, the Foxes boss warns that there is an "awful long way to go" before they can even dream about survival.

"My perspective on it is that we've worked very hard all season," he told reporters. "We're still in the bottom three so I'm not really too concerned what other people are saying.

"We've given ourselves a better chance than we had three weeks ago, but that's what it is, it's a better chance.

"There's an awful long way to go and the majority of the games we have left will have a bearing on sides around us."

City travel to Burnley, who sit two points behind them in 20th, on Saturday.
