Lacina Traore: 'I prefer Everton's football to West Ham United's'

Lacina Traore admits that he opted for Everton over West Ham United because of the Toffees' style of play.

Everton's loan signing Lacina Traore has admitted that he chose the Toffees over West Ham United because their style of football suited him more.

Traore said that he did seriously consider opting for the Hammers, but Everton's league position, as well as their passing game, nudged his decision their way.

"It was quite close, but Everton was my choice," The Mirror quotes Traore as saying. "I looked at the styles of play of the two teams we are talking about and the way in which Everton play is more of a passing side and the style of Everton suited my technical ability.

"Also I looked at where they were in the league and they were quite well off for points in the league.

"I think with that sort of emphasis on skill and the passing game, I am hoping I can settle in as quickly as possible with my style of play."

Traore is on loan from Ligue 1 side Monaco.
