Faustino Asprilla: 'Jackson Martinez ideal partner for Falcao'

Former Colombia striker Faustino Asprilla believes that Jackson Martinez should partner Falcao and that Juan Cuadrado is his nation's best player.

Former Colombian international Faustino Asprilla has revealed that he wants Jackson Martinez to partner Falcao during Copa America 2015.

Both Martinez and Carlos Bacca have had superb seasons for their clubs, scoring 32 and 28 goals in all competitions respectively.

"For me, as a striker, I liked to play with strikers, so I think that Martinez would be the ideal partner for Falcao, despite Carlos Bacca's good games," Asprilla told Goal.com.

The former Parma and Newcastle United striker also revealed that he thinks Chelsea's Juan Cuadrado is Colombia's best player.

"He is the best player of the national team, he's fast and dominant," he added. "He's not had a good season for Chelsea, but hopefully he can show you that he knows this team.

"Jose Pekerman is a good coach. Whatever he does in the Copa, we will be eternally grateful for giving Colombia the best ever World Cup."

Colombia have only ever won the Copa America once, back in 2001.
