Chelsea's Ryan Bertrand plays down exit talk

Ryan Bertrand insists that he is concentrating on doing well for Chelsea and not thinking about leaving the club.

Chelsea full-back Ryan Bertrand has played down reports linking him with a move away from the club.

Bertrand had been a reported target for Liverpool after failing to secure a regular place in the Chelsea side last season.

"I have been on loan for or five times but then there comes a time when you have to say 'Right, I'm going to spend some time back at club and see what happens,'" Bertrand told reporters.

"Obviously I want to be Chelsea's number one left-back, and when that time comes it will happen. All I can do is be ready and keep playing, keep biding my time."

Bertrand played during the second half of Chelsea's pre-season win in Bangkok last week.
