Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri: 'Kepa Arrizabalaga remains number one'

Chelsea head coach Maurizio Sarri says that Kepa Arrizabalaga remains his first-choice goalkeeper despite dropping the Spaniard for the game with Tottenham Hotspur.

Chelsea head coach Maurizio Sarri has revealed that Kepa Arrizabalaga will soon be handed a recall to the starting lineup.

Kepa refused to be substituted during Sunday's EFL Cup final, and it resulted in the goalkeeper being fined by the Blues.

The Spaniard was also dropped for Wednesday's Premier League fixture with Tottenham Hotspur, but Sarri has said that the stopper remains first choice between the sticks.

Sarri is quoted by The Mirror as saying: "It was the right decision, Kepa made a big mistake. I don't know if the next match he will be with us, but in one of the next two for sure.

"We cannot kill him. When you are young you make mistakes, but you need to understand."

Willy Caballero kept a clean sheet as Chelsea registered a 2-0 victory over their London rivals.
