Jose Mourinho hails Frank Lampard achievement

Jose Mourinho hails Frank Lampard after the Chelsea midfielder went second on all-time list of Premier League appearance-makers.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has praised Frank Lampard after the midfielder went second on the all-time list of appearance-makers in the Premier League.

The midfielder's run-out against Everton on Saturday meant that he equalled David James's stat of 572 games in England's top division.

"He's fantastic," Mourinho told BT Sport. "To be one of the top scorers in the Premier League with all the players who have been in its history is fantastic.

"The others are strikers and he is a midfielder and for him to be amongst them is amazing. He is now level with a goalkeeper and that means a lot because they play more games and years."

Manchester United's Ryan Giggs is currently top of the list.
