Branislav Ivanovic: 'Chelsea can recover from Champions League defeat'

Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic insists that his side can recover from their surprise defeat to Basel on Wednesday night.

Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic believes that his side can learn from their mistakes after losing to Basel in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.

The Blues were stunned by a second-half comeback from the Swiss side, but Ivanovic has insisted that there is still plenty of time to qualify for the knockout stages.

The 29-year-old told Chelsea TV: "It's a bad start in the Champions League but it's just the first game.

"We have to stand up, show the character in other games and this situation has to be a good example for the future."

Chelsea have failed to win in their previous four matches in all competitions.
