Chelsea defender Gary Cahill defends captain John Terry's programme notes that criticise the performances of his Stamford Bridge teammates.

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill has insisted that John Terry was right to demand more "fight and desire" from his Chelsea teammates.

In his programme notes ahead of the Champions League game with FC Nordsjaelland, Terry also slated his team's display as "simply not good enough" and his central-defensive teammate believes the outburst should be taken as a positive move.

Cahill told Sky Sports News: "If there's a time where it needs to be done then, sure, it's a positive, as long as it's taken in the right way.

"You have to dig in as a group. That's the only way you can go forward."

Chelsea have not won in the Premier League for six games and they were eliminated from the Champions League on Wednesday night.
