Birmingham goalkeeping coach Dave Watson joins the England backroom staff for Euro 2012.

Birmingham City goalkeeping coach Dave Watson has been named as part of the England backroom team for Euro 2012.

Watson, who has previously worked at Oldham Athletic, Huddersfield Town, Northampton Town and Nottingham Forest, will work with current coach Ray Clemence at the summer tournament.

The 38-year-old has already coached Joe Hart while the England number one was on loan at Birmingham in 2009.

"Dave is highly rated throughout the game and is well respected by the goalkeepers who have worked with him, importantly Joe Hart," manager Roy Hodgson told reporters.

"He has worked with a number of current English goalkeepers and has experience of working with England development teams so we know he will fit in well with the squad.

"I'm personally delighted to have him as part of the England staff at the tournament."

England take on France in their first group game of Euro 2012 on Monday, June 11.
