Saturday's Bundesliga predictions including Mainz 05 vs. Bayern Munich

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Bundesliga fixtures, including Mainz 05 vs. Bayern Munich.

Augsburg vs. B. Leverkusen (Saturday, 2.30pm)

Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen are set to travel to WWK Arena where they will take on Augsburg on Saturday in their 14th league game of the season.

The hosts are sixth last in 13th place with 16 points and drew 2-2 with Eintracht Frankfurt on December 7, while Xabi Alonso's side are third with 26 points and are now six points behind leaders Bayern Munich following their 2-1 victory against St Pauli last Saturday.

We say: Augsburg 1-3 Bayer Leverkusen

It is difficult to see how Augsburg can avoid defeat given the strong performances of Bayer Leverkusen in recent weeks.

Considering the visitors have also been strong at both ends of the pitch, it would not be surprising if they scored several times while keeping their hosts relatively quiet in the final third.

Mainz vs. Bayern (Saturday, 2.30pm)

League leaders Bayern Munich will aim to solidify their position at the summit of the Bundesliga table when they travel to Mewa Arena on Saturday where they take on Mainz 05 in their 14th league game of 2024-25.

Mainz have 19 points and are ninth in the table after losing 4-3 against Wolfsburg on December 8, while the Bavarians beat Heidenheim 4-2 on December 7 and their tally of 33 points is six more than second-placed Eintracht Frankfurt.

We say: Mainz 05 1-3 Bayern Munich

Bayern have been rampant in front of goal all season, and it is plausible that they could score multiple times on Saturday.

However, given the injuries in defence and to Neuer, Mainz will likely have opportunities of their own, and they may at least prevent the visitors from keeping a clean sheet.

Borussia M'bach vs. Holstein Kiel (Saturday, 2.30pm)

Borussia Monchengladbach will hope to stay within touching distance of the Bundesliga's European qualification places when they welcome strugglers Holstein Kiel to Borussia Park on Saturday.

Die Fohlen are 11th with 18 points after 13 matchweeks and drew 1-1 with Borussia Dortmund on December 7, whereas their opponents are second last in 17th place with just five points and lost 2-0 against RB Leipzig last Saturday.

We say: Borussia Monchengladbach 2-0 Holstein Kiel

Bochum have been poor defensively this season, and it is difficult to see how they can keep a clean sheet on Saturday.

Additionally, Borussia Monchengladbach's impressive form at home should make them strong favourites ahead of their relegation-threatened opponents.

Union Berlin vs. VfL Bochum (Saturday, 2.30pm)

Union Berlin will host last-placed VfL Bochum in the Bundesliga on Saturday in their 14th match of the 2024-25 campaign at Stadion An der Alten Forsterei.

The home team lost 3-2 against Stuttgart on December 6 and are 12th in the top flight with 16 points, while their opponents are 18th with just two points after 13 games and were beaten 1-0 by Werder Bremen on December 7.

We say: Union Berlin 2-0 VfL Bochum

It would not be surprising if Union Berlin managed to get back to winning ways at home considering their opponents' record away from home is dreadful.

While the hosts have not been prolific goalscorers this season, the visitors are the worst defensive team in the entire division and are not likely to keep a clean sheet.

St Pauli vs. Werder Bremen (Saturday, 5.30pm)

Bundesliga strugglers St Pauli will seek just their second home win of the season on Saturday evening, when they welcome Werder Bremen to the Millerntor.

While the Hamburg club lost away to Bayer Leverkusen last time out, Bremen beat Bochum to stay in touch with Germany's top six.

We say: St Pauli 1-2 Werder Bremen

As Werder are one of the Bundesliga's best away sides, they can leave Hamburg with maximum points, given St Pauli's struggles at home.

The hosts have scored just three times in six league matches at the Millerntor this season, so they may end up empty-handed against Bremen again.
