Gary Lineker: 'Jack Wilshere will be refreshed for World Cup after injury blow'

Gary Lineker believes that Jack Wilshere will be "refreshed and raring to go" for the World Cup, despite suffering a foot injury that will keep him out for six weeks.

Retired footballer Gary Lineker believes that Jack Wilshere will be "raring to go" for the World Cup, despite suffering an injury blow.

Arsenal have confirmed that the midfielder will be sidelined for at least six weeks after picking up a hairline fracture in his left foot.

The 22-year-old, who suffered the blow during England's 1-0 win over Denmark on Wednesday evening, said at the time that his injury was "only a bruise".

Lineker wrote on Twitter: "Bad news that @JackWilshere will be out for 6 weeks. Big blow for Arsenal, but not necessarily England. Refreshed and raring to go for WC."

The World Cup kicks off on June 12 in Brazil.
