Arsenal are reportedly planning to sell midfielder and former captain Granit Xhaka in January.

The 27-year-old was recently stripped of the captaincy, given to him by Unai Emery at the start of the season, after his outburst at the club's fans during the game with Crystal Palace last month.

Xhaka cupped his hand to his ear and told the Arsenal fans to "fuck off" after being subjected to jeers and boos as he was substituted in the second half.

According to The Mirror, it now seems a certainty that the Swiss international will leave in January, with Germany his most likely destination.

Since joining the Gunners from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2016, Xhaka has scored 11 goals in 144 appearances.
