Sports Mole looks at Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema's record against Osasuna ahead of the Copa del Rey final.

Karim Benzema will be bidding to fire Real Madrid to Copa del Rey success on Saturday night.

The 35-year-old has had his injury problems during the 2022-23 campaign, but another impressive season has seen him score 29 goals and register six assists in 37 appearances in all competitions.

Benzema has four goals in four Copa del Rey outings this term, and he has returned to the Real Madrid squad for the final after being rested against Real Sociedad in La Liga last time out.

The Frenchman is set to lead the line against Osasuna in Seville, and with that in mind, Sports Mole takes a look at how the experienced striker has performed against Los Rojillos in the past.

Benzema has faced Osasuna on 18 occasions during his professional career, boasting a record of 11 wins, six draws and one defeat, scoring five times and registering four assists.

As expected, the majority of the games (17) have taken place in Spain's top flight, with the forward winning 10, drawing six and losing one of his La Liga matches with Saturday's opponents.

Four of Benzema's five goals and all of his assists (four) against Los Rojillos have come in the league, while he has faced them on one previous occasion in the Copa del Rey.

The cup match in question was the first leg of the last-16 contest during the 2013-14 campaign, with the forward finding the back of the net in a 2-0 success for Real Madrid at Bernabeu.

Benzema was an unused substitute for the second leg, though, which also ended in a 2-0 win for Los Blancos.

The forward's first-ever match against Osasuna was a goalless draw during the 2009-10 La Liga season, and he has only ever lost once against Saturday's opponents, which was a 1-0 defeat in Pamplona during the 2010-11 campaign.

Benzema's most productive game against the Copa del Rey finalists came at Bernabeu during the 2011-12 campaign, when he scored twice in a 7-1 success for the capital giants.

The forward has not actually scored against Osasuna since the strike in the Copa del Rey in 2014, though, drawing blanks in his last nine league games against them, including a 1-1 draw at Bernabeu in Spain's top flight earlier this season.

Benzema was absent for Real Madrid's 2-0 success in the reverse game in Pamplona earlier this year due to a muscular issue, with Federico Valverde and Marco Asensio on the scoresheet for the champions.
