Bas Dost's goal in the first half proves to be enough for Wolfsburg to defeat Greuther Furth 1-0 in the Bundesliga.

Wolfsburg have defeated Greuther Furth 1-0 away from home in the Bundesliga.

The home side had the game's first chance and it came after six minutes when Jozsef Vargas shot wide from distance.

Diego was unlucky not to put Wolfsburg in the lead five minutes later, as he saw his free kick come off the Furth crossbar.

It was the home side who took control of proceedings thereafter, Gerald Asamoah, Mergim Mavraj and Lasse Sobiech all trying their luck.

However, it was Wolfsburg who headed into the half-time interval with the 1-0 advantage, Bas Dost turning in Vieirinha's cross from just yards out on 23 minutes.

Nikola Djurdjic saw his long-range attempt on the Wolfsburg goal saved after the break, before Baba Rahman shot high from outside the box.

Furth continued to dominate proceedings for the remainder of the match, but failed to find the target.
