Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix is reportedly keen to complete a move to Newcastle United this summer.
The Portugal international spent the second half of the 2022-23 season on loan with Chelsea, where he scored four goals in 20 appearances.
There was no buy option included in the loan agreement, but Felix was supposedly under the impression that Chelsea would attempt to sign him on a permanent transfer.
However, Atletico president Enrique Cerezo revealed that Chelsea have informed him that they will not be pursuing a permanent deal.
Chelsea's new head coach Mauricio Pochettino was believed to be behind the decision, and as a result, Felix will return to Atletico.

The attacker has made 131 competitive appearances for the Spanish club, scoring 34 goals and providing 18 assists during his four years with the club.
However, Felix has a fractious relationship with Diego Simeone, and he does not feature as part of the manager's plans.
The 23-year-old is expected to be on the move again this summer, and he is seemingly pushing for a return to the Premier League.
According to The Sun, Felix is favouring a move to Newcastle, where he would be able to play Champions League football.

The Magpies are set to compete in the group stage for the first time since the 2002-03 season after they finished the campaign in fourth position.
Atletico are prepared to allow Felix to leave on another loan deal for a reasonable fee plus the player's wages.
However, Felix's £200,000 a week salary could prove to be a stumbling block due to Newcastle's strict wage structure.
The Atletico forward has also been linked with French giants Paris Saint-Germain, but his preference remains a move to the Premier League.
