Chelsea have reportedly expressed an interest in signing Real Madrid defender Alvaro Odriozola.
Having missed out on European qualification for 2023-24, the Blues are preparing to undergo a rebuild under newly-appointed head coach Mauricio Pochettino.
If reports are to be believed, the Argentine is focused on signing a new goalkeeper, central midfield and centre-forward as his priority additions.
However, that is not to say that the West Londoners will not look to strengthen in other areas at a time when a wide array of talent will depart Stamford Bridge.
Of the positions that do not necessarily need boosting at the current time, right-back appears to be at the top of the list with Chelsea already having three recognised options.

Reece James - when fit - is the outstanding choice in that role, Cesar Azpilicueta is a club legend and Malo Gusto will be linking up with Chelsea after returning to Lyon on loan at the start of the year.
Nevertheless, despite Trevoh Chalobah also being an able deputy for that side of the backline, it seems that Chelsea are open to adding another fresh face to that area.
According to reports in Spain, Chelsea are interested in signing Odriozola, who is out of favour at La Liga giants Real Madrid.
The 27-year-old was provided with just one start and five substitute outings in all competitions during 2022-23, with his stock having decreased since impressing on loan at Fiorentina.

Los Blancos and manager Carlo Ancelotti are seemingly happy to oversee the exit of the four-cap Spain international, providing that they receive a fee for his signature.
Real Sociedad - his former club - are also said to be contenders to sign Odriozola but have learned that Madrid have no interest in parting with Odriozola on a free transfer.
That said, the player has just over a year left on his contract, and would reportedly prefer to return to his ex-employers if a compromise can be reached over an asking price.
While Chelsea appear to be outsiders, it is unclear whether Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital will show a greater willingness to pay a fee for a player who once cost €35m.
