Elena Baltacha has confirmed on Facebook that she has undergone successful surgery on a foot injury as she ponders a return to professional tennis.
The Brit has not played since deciding to take six months off from tennis in July, and told BBC Sport that she remains undecided on her future in the sport.
Baltacha said: "I had successful surgery on my right foot yesterday to remove a little piece of bone that was causing a lot of problems around my ankle.
"It looks like I'll be on crutches for a few weeks but, after that, there'll be no stopping me. I have had the problem for about five years, but this year has been the worst.
"If I miss that tennis life and want to get on a plane and give it another go, I will do that. But, if I decide that I want to dedicate my life to my academy, that's what I'll do."
The former Olympian also runs a successful tennis school in Ipswich, and has admitted that her future may lie in devoting more time to the centre.
