Andy Murray: 'I'm still motivated'

US Open champion Andy Murray stresses that he is eager to continue winning until the end of the year.

Great Britain's Andy Murray has insisted that he has not taken his eye off the ball following his success at the recent US Open.

The 25-year-old lost in the semi-final of the Japan Open last week to Milos Roanic, prompting some pundits to suggest that he was suffering with a come down after winning his first Grand Slam title.

However, Murray is adamant that he is fully focused on ending 2012 on a high note.

"I tried very very hard last week, I played some tough matches. I haven't had perfect preparation because I took a lot of time off after the US Open," he told BBC Sport.

"I am very motivated to finish well this year. I didn't finish last year how I would have liked. I want to make sure I'm fully fit for it I'm looking forward to it."

Murray is currently competing at the Shanghai Masters.
