Wolverhampton Wanderers defender David Edwards admits that the club need to "bounce straight back" to the Premier League.

Wolverhampton Wanderers defender David Edwards has targeted a return to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

The Midlands side were relegated from the top flight this term, but the 26-year-old is confident that they can return under new boss Stale Solbakken.

"Our aim has got to be promotion because this is a huge club with great fans and everything is in place for us to bounce straight back," said the midfielder to the club's official website.

"We need a good start to next season and then hopefully that momentum can carry us through.

"It's really important to get off to a good start - teams who have gone down in the past have had a bit of a hangover at the start of the season. We've really got to get out of the blocks quickly."

Wolves finished the 2011-12 season bottom of the Premier League.
