Adil Rami seeks legal advice in Valencia row

Adil Rami hires a lawyer to contest Valencia's claims that he acted in an unprofessional manner by criticising his teammates and coach during a recent radio interview.

French defender Adil Rami has taken on legal representation in the midst of his row with Valencia.

The 27-year-old has been told that he has played his last game for Los Che after publicly criticising his teammates, as well as coach Miroslav Djukic, during a radio interview.

However, Rami contests any allegations of wrongdoing, and feels that his integrity is being challenged by the club's hierarchy.

As a result, the former Lille centre-back, who arrived at the Mestalla two years ago, has sought the advice of Parisian lawyer Alberto Brusa.

"Adil Rami, professional footballer for Valencia and the French national team, is sharply opposed to the statements of the leaders of Valencia directed against him," read a statement on Rami's behalf.

"[He] believes that they are harming his dignity and image as a professional. Even when he has always devoted his body and soul to the club.

"Given the situation, Adil Rami has instructed the advice of Mr Alberto Brusa, admitted to the Paris Bar Association, who will look after his interests and try to find a possible solution with Valencia in order to preserve his career."

Reports suggest that he will be shipped out on loan in January, with Inter Milan, Roma and Napoli all believed to be interested.
