Report: Lewis Holtby linked with return to Germany

A report claims that three Bundesliga clubs want to sign Lewis Holtby from Tottenham Hotspur.

Lewis Holtby could be ready to leave Tottenham Hotspur and return to Germany, according to a report.

The midfielder joined Spurs from Schalke 04 last January for £1.5m under former manager Andre Villas-Boas. However, a number of Bundesliga clubs are keen on signing Holtby, including his former club.

The Mirror claims that Wolfsburg and Hannover are also monitoring the situation, and quotes a source as saying that Holtby is unhappy with his lack of playing time at White Hart Lane and would be glad to return "home".

"Lewis is becoming increasingly frustrated at Tottenham. He fears his face just does not fit and would welcome a move back home if the right offer came along," the source said.

In December, Holtby admitted that he would consider a move back to the Bundesliga.
