Spain have comprehensively defeated Saudi Arabia 5-0 in a friendly international at Estadio Municipal de Pasaron in Pontevedra.

The European and world champions were in control of the game right from the first and went ahead in the 22nd minute.

Pedro cut inside from the left and took a fierce shot at the Saudi goal, and Santi Cazorla pounced on the rebound.

Pedro and Cazorla combined again six minutes later, this time the Barcelona forward slotting home the Arsenal midfielder's through ball with a wonderful lob over Saudi Arabia goalkeeper Waleed Abdullah.

Xavi made it 3-0 to Spain just two minutes into the second half with virtually his first touch of the game, when he curled in a free kick.

David Villa scored on his return to the Spain lineup after a nine-month absence because of injury, when he found the target from the penalty spot in the 63rd minute.

Spain were not finished there, as Pedro made it 5-0 on 73 minutes with yet another beautiful finish from a David Silva through ball.
