Ryan Bertrand: 'Southampton in good hands despite Ronald Koeman exit'

Southampton left-back Ryan Bertrand insists that the club is in "good hands" following the departure of manager Ronald Koeman.

Southampton left-back Ryan Bertrand has claimed that he has no concerns over Ronald Koeman's departure as manager because "the club is in good hands".

The Dutchman left his post to take charge at Everton on a three-year deal, replacing Roberto Martinez, who was sacked in the final week of the Premier League season.

Koeman spent two seasons at St Mary's, taking the club to Europa League qualification with a sixth-place finish in the league in the 2015-16 campaign.

Bertrand, who joined the Saints permanently from Chelsea last year, has admitted that he has not had much time to process the news as he is focused on England's upcoming Euro 2016 clash against Wales.

"He helped me a lot personally," Bertrand told reporters. "It's news to me, it was announced today, but I haven't really thought about it because I haven't had the time. We're building for Wales. I'm sure the club is in good hands, we've done this once or twice before."

Frank de Boer and Eddie Howe are among the names being linked with the Southampton vacancy.
