Cristiano Ronaldo says that he would sign for the next 10 years at Real Madrid, calming talk that the former Manchester United star plans to make a return to the Premier League.

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has dispelled suggestions that he could make a return to the Premier League in the future by insisting that he wants to finish his career at the Bernabeu.

The former Manchester United winger, who joined the current La Liga champions for a record-breaking £80m in 2009, recently hinted that he could leave Madrid in the near future.

Despite initial hesitations, the Portugal international has claimed that he would sign for the next 10 years of his career at Real if it were possible.

"If it was up to me I would stay at Real Madrid for the rest of my career but it's not up to me," Ronaldo told Marca. "I would sign for 10 years today if I could."

The 27-year-old's comments may have been spurred by manager Jose Mourinho's decision to extend his contract with the Spanish giants.
