Queens Park Rangers have reportedly made an official approach to Burton Albion asking permission to speak to manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink about their vacant head coach role.
The 43-year-old Dutchman has been heavily linked with the position over the last few weeks after QPR sacked Chris Ramsey almost a month ago.
Hasselbaink, who has impressed at Burton over the last 12 months, has played down suggestions that he could take over at Loftus Road, but according to Sky Sports News, QPR have made an official approach to the League One club.
Hasselbaink, who spent four years at Chelsea during his playing career, has guided Burton to the top of the league after 20 games.
The team are two points ahead of Coventry City.
