Chris Powell 'interviewed over vacant Queens Park Rangers managerial position'

Queens Park Rangers reportedly interview Chris Powell over the vacant managerial position at Loftus Road, having also been heavily linked with Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

Former Huddersfield Town boss Chris Powell has been interviewed by Queens Park Rangers chiefs over the vacant managerial position at Loftus Road, according to a report.

The Hoops, currently being led by Neil Warnock on an interim basis, have been on the search for a new head coach since parting company with Chris Ramsey earlier this month.

Burton Albion's Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is widely considered to still be the frontrunner to take over, although the Daily Mail claims that discussions have now been held with Powell.

It has also been suggested that Kenny Jackett is another name in the frame as he goes through his most difficult spell at Wolverhampton Wanderers, as QPR continue to take their time over the appointment.

Powell was sacked by Huddersfield at the start of November as the Terriers looked for a new approach under ex-Borussia Dortmund coach David Wagner, who has since lost his first two games at the helm.
