Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink brushes off latest Queens Park Rangers speculation

Burton Albion manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink claims that the mounting speculation linking him to the Queens Park Rangers job is "not relevant".

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has once more moved to distance himself from the Queens Park Rangers job, claiming that the ongoing speculation surrounding his future is "not relevant".

The 43-year-old is widely considered to be the strong favourite to take over at Loftus Road following his impressive work at Burton Albion over the past 12 months.

Hasselbaink has been repeatedly forced to deny suggestions that an approach has been made for his services, while Burton have also categorically denied that the Dutchman is interested in taking up the vacant position in West London.

That has not stopped the speculation continuing to mount, though, with the latest reports suggesting that talks could get underway at some stage this week.

However, in his press conference ahead of Tuesday night's meeting with Millwall, Hasselbaink told reporters: "There's been no approach from QPR - it's not relevant.

"Yesterday I cooked Sunday dinner for my family. We had chicken, lamb and rice - it was very nice. It's something that I have no dealings with. It's just speculation.

"There's no frustration whatsoever with how long it's gone on. I'm determined to make Burton Albion a force and to do as well as I can."

Chris Powell and Kenny Jackett are also thought to be in the running to take over at QPR, who have been without a permanent manager since parting company with Chris Ramsey earlier this month.
