Report: Nottingham Forest lining up Nigel Pearson appointment

A report claims that Nigel Pearson is Nottingham Forest's preferred candidate to take over from Dougie Freedman, with the Scotsman's job currently hanging by a thread.

Nottingham Forest have targeted Nigel Pearson to take over from under-fire chief Dougie Freedman, according to a report.

Freedman's spell at the City Ground appears to be coming to an end following a run of three wins from the last 24 games.

Despite the Scotsman suggesting last week that he is relishing the "big challenge" of turning Forest's season around, Here Is The City suggests that new options are already being lined up.

It is claimed that Pearson - sacked by Leicester City in the summer - is the preferred option for Reds chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi, while Nigel Clough has also been linked with the job.
