Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley is reportedly weighing up a move for Brighton & Hove Albion manager Gus Poyet should Alan Pardew leave the club.
Pardew's future has been the subject of speculation recently, following the appointment of Joe Kinnear as director of football.
Should the Magpies boss leave the club, then Ashley will look towards Poyet, according to The People.
Poyet is currently suspended from the south coast club after he was alleged to have breached his contract following their playoff semi-final defeat to Crystal Palace last month.
